Purpose & Structure

TCPG organizes family resources to support the educational approach of Thornton Creek and the success of Thornton Creek students. Since 1991, TCPG volunteers have formally partnered with staff and administration to form Site Council, an organization that brings the community together to collaboratively set the direction of our alternative approach school.

Activities & Events

We typically organize volunteers and plan school-centered events that celebrate our students and build community. Public health concerns continue to shape many of these events. To stay up-to-date on TCPG events and information, sign up to receive our newsletter.

Community meetings, typically held the second Tuesday of every month, are a forum for updates, discussion, and shared decision-making for our school. Meetings are open to all parents and caregivers, teachers, and staff. We hope you’ll join us for our next meeting. Meeting information can be found on our website.

Much of our work takes place within committees that focus on Special Education; Curriculum; Health & Safety; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI); and more.

Membership & Fundraising

Every guardian of a TC student is already a TCPG member. Each year, TCPG organizes an Annual Appeal and other fundraisers to support Thornton Creek’s unique creative approach programming. Families are invited to participate as they are able. There is no obligation to give. The vast majority of funds we raise are spent directly in the classroom.
