Fundraising events at Thornton Creek are designed to build community and help children appreciate how their efforts directly benefit our school. In addition to an annual appeal, we hold the Move-a-thon in the fall, a winter bazaar, and some sort of fund-raising event in the spring.

    The annual appeal

Simply put, we ask you to consider the value you place on our school and to make a direct, tax-deductible contribution in an amount that works for your family. Parents who work for companies that have corporate gift-matching programs can double their donations by submitting a gift-matching form to their employers' HR office. Washington State Employees can use the WA Combined Fund Drive as a means of making their contribution.

The annual appeal takes place in the spring.

The annual Move-a-thon (in past years also known as the Walkathon) is a fall fundraiser for kids to earn money for their school. After setting a goal for the number of laps they will make on the field, they request per-lap or flat-fee donations from friends and family members, and submit their earnings to the school (with parent/caregiver help).

The Move-a-thon takes place in the fall.

    Winter bazaar

The winter bazaar is a great place to get your holiday shopping done! There is no end to the creativity of our kids (and their parents!). Inside the gym, you’ll find jewelry, candles, magnets, soap, cards, games, gift boxes, comics, calendars, miniatures, hats and scarves, paintings, potholders, ceramics, ornaments, sand sculpture animals, and just about anything else you can imagine. Sometimes outside sellers also participate. All sellers donate a percentage of their gross proceeds to Thornton Creek. Please consider your talents, and make something for this year’s bazaar!

The winter bazaar takes place in December.
